U.S. to Seek Acoustic Units
for Four Dams in Northwest

WALLA WALLA, Wash., -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to seek bids from small businesses to supply acoustic release and control units for four hydroelectric projects in the Pacific Northwest.

The Corps' Walla Walla District said it plans to issue a solicitation that will result in delivery of the units by March 1, 2012.

The district took information in October on contractors able to perform fish counting services at eight federal hydroelectric projects on the Columbia and Snake rivers.

The agency now says it will seek bids from small businesses to supply 88 acoustic release and control units for four dams. Bids are expected to be due about 10 days after a solicitation is issued.

A pre-solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912EF12Q0003 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
