Benton PUD 32% Rate Rise is Topic of Meeting by Staff Tri-City Herald, March 6, 2011

A 32 percent rate increase for the Benton PUD will be discussed at a meeting of the American Nuclear Society's Eastern Washington Section on March 15.

James Sanders, chief executive of the Benton PUD, has been asked to discuss how the increase relates to the Bonneville Power Administration and whether alternative power sources, such as wind, are contributing to the increase.

There is no charge to attend the presentation at 7 p.m. at the Shilo Inn, 50 Comstock St., Richland. However, those attending the dinner meeting an hour earlier will be charged $22 and should make reservations at ANS.EWS.Treasurer@gmail.com or 735-6622 by 4 p.m. Friday.
