I'm dismayed you decided to write an editorial supporting the federal government's attempts to cut spill this summer. As our governor aptly points out, the Endangered Species Act is not the only thing we Oregonians have to think about when it comes to salmon. Salmon bring jobs and millions of dollars into Oregon's economy. All you have to do is look at Thursday, July 22 article in your own business pages to see what I mean ("More Fish More Boats"). The article could just as easily been titled "Less Spill, Less Fish, Less Boats, Less Money." I'm proud of our governor for standing up to the federal agencies and I wish there were more elected officials following his footsteps.
