Aerial view of Lower Granite Dam and it's forty mile long reservoir backing up water all the way in to Idaho. WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks information on firms able to modify a juvenile fish collection channel at 810-MW Lower Granite Dam on the Snake River in Washington. Responses are due Dec. 3.

The Corps' Walla Walla District took information in October on firms able to upgrade the juvenile fish passage facility at Lower Granite. The Corps awarded a contract in May to Haz-Tech Drilling Inc. to perform geotechnical survey services at Lower Granite while the National Marine Fisheries Service solicited passive integrated transponder tags in March for fish passage at projects including Lower Granite.

The Corps now seeks information from firms with the interest and capability to permanently close juvenile fish collection channel reservoir side fish slots. It seeks information to identify small businesses able to perform the work.

Closure is to be accomplished by using existing fish slot screens and converting them with concrete into fish slot plugs. About 378 cubic yards of concrete fill is required for the 18 plugs. The work is expected to be performed between July 2014 and March 2015 at a cost of $1 million to $5 million.

A sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912EF14RSS09 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.

Responses are due via e-mail to the address below by 2 p.m. Dec. 3. For information, contact Jani Long, Contract Specialist, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, 201 N. Third Ave., Walla Walla, WA 99362-1876; (1) 509-527-7209.
