Steelhead Run Cruising

by Eric Barker
Lewiston Tribune, June 26, 2010

Nearly 8,000 steelhead have been recorded climbing the fish ladder at Lower Granite Dam on the Snake River 35 miles west of Lewiston.

The 10-year average is about 2,700.

I haven't reached my goal of catching a July steelhead from the Clearwater River but I did get a good grab Saturday morning and have talked to other anglers who have caught steelhead this summer. I even heard one report of a steelhead being caught near Greer.

See you on the river.
