WALLA WALLA, Wash., U.S. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to seek bids for replacement of diesel generators and switchgear at three Snake River hydroelectric projects in Washington.

The Corps' Walla Walla District expected to issue a solicitation in late September with bids due about 30 days later to replace equipment at the 810-MW Lower Granite, 810-MW Lower Monumental, and 810-MW Little Goose projects. The Corps already is taking bids in October for fire protection system maintenance services at the three projects, plus 603-MW Ice Harbor on the Snake and 402-MW Dworshak on the Clearwater River. The diesel generators to be replaced are 4,160-volt, 500-kilovolt-ampere powerhouse emergency generators at all three plants. The switchgear are designated as SQ2, including 300-kVa, 4,160-volt-480-volt step-down transformers and feeds to auxiliary power systems at Lower Monumental and Lower Granite.

A pre-solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912EF10R0044 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
