Study by corps upgrades safety of massive dam

Dworshak Dam spills water to cool lower Snake River reservoirs An in-depth study is responsible for a safety-rating upgrade of the 700-foot-high Dworshak Dam from "Unsafe or Potentially Unsafe" to "Conditionally Unsafe."

Officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers met with the Clearwater County Board of Commissioners Monday to announce they are upgrading the safety rating of the dam that received a poor score in an initial risk analysis four years ago.
