Fall Chinook Count at Bonneville Dam Second Highest on Record Since at Least 1938 by Mark Yuasa Seattle Times, September 3, 2015

The fall chinook returns continues on a near record pace, according to Joe Hymer, a state Fish and Wildlife biologist.

The 185,644 adult fall chinook counted at Bonneville Dam to-date is the second highest on record (since at least 1938).

The record is the 221,375 fish counted from August 1-September 1, 2013.

Single-day counts are 22,449 on Aug. 29; 20,345 on Aug. 30; 20,107 on Aug. 31; 19,495 on Sept. 1; and 22,799 on Sept. 2.

Conversely, the 4,268 adult coho counted at Bonneville Dam to-date are the fewest since 1999. Steelhead counts at the dam have totaled 194,495.
