White sturgeon retention is closed from Buoy 10 at the mouth of the Columbia River upstream to McNary Dam but remains an option for catch-and-release fishing.

The fall salmon season is open from Buoy 10 upstream to the Oregon/Washington Border above McNary Dam. However, the Columbia River below Bonneville Dam is closed to the retention of chinook. Anglers may still keep two hatchery coho a day.

Trout fishing is good in high elevation lakes.

Fishing for albacore tuna continues to be very good out of Ilwaco when the ocean cooperates.

Coho fishing is fair at Buoy 10.

SALMON/STEELHEAD

Columbia River Mainstem

Warrior Rock to Bonneville Dam -- Release all Chinook, two hatchery adult coho may be retained. Coho fishing up to Bonneville Dam is slow but improving. Anglers have been releasing good numbers of chinook.

Columbia River Tributaries

• Cowlitz River -- Until further notice, the closed section below the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery Barrier Dam is 400 feet, at the posted markers.

• North Fork Toutle River -- Daily salmon limit six, up to four adults may be retained. Release all salmon other than hatchery coho.

• Wind River -- Release all steelhead from the mouth to 400 feet downstream of Shipherd Falls fish ladder.

• White Salmon River -- Release all steelhead from the mouth to the county road bridge below the former location of the power house.

• Klickitat River -- Release all steelheadfrom the mouth to Fisher Hill Bridge.

• Elochoman River -- Two bank anglers had no catch.

• Cowlitz River -- I-5 Bridge downstream: 46 bank rods kept one coho, two coho jacks and released one chinook jack. 33 boats/86 rods kept eight coho, three coho jacks and released 83 chinook, 23 chinook jacks,12 coho, 14 coho jacks and three steelhead. Above the I-5 Bridge: 19 bank rods released two chinook. One boat/two rods had no catch.

• Lewis River -- 45 bank anglers kept one chinook, two coho, three coho jacks and one steelhead. Two boats/four rods kept two coho, one coho jack and released one chinook.

• Wind River -- Two bank anglers had no catch. Five boats/six rods kept two chinook, one coho and released two coho.

• Drano Lake -- 15 boats/33 rods kept 18 chinook and one coho.

• Klickitat River -- Six bank anglers kept one coho and released one chinook.
