U.S. Seeks Firms to Supply Standby
Generator at 810-MW Little Goose Dam

Little Goose Dam in remote SE corner of Washington State impounds the Lower Snake River and negatively effecting Idaho's salmon migration to the sea. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks information on firms able to supply a standby generator to the juvenile fish facility at the 810-MW Little Goose hydroelectric project on the Snake River in Washington. Responses are due Jan. 20.

The Corps' Walla Walla District took bids in December to supply turbine blade packing for six units at Little Goose. It also solicited information in November on firms able to install new digital governors at Little Goose. It awarded a contract last year to Skyward Construction Inc. to supply replacement hoists on the project's north shore fishway entrance.

In a sources sought notice, the Walla Walla District now seeks information on small businesses able to remove an existing standby generator at the Little Goose juvenile fish facility and replace it with a 150-kW diesel unit. The work, valued at $100,000 to $250,000, also would include operational tests and staff training.
