The Audacious Goal
of 100% Renewables

by Marco Krapels and Mark Jacobson
GreenBiz, November 3, 2014

"Why wouldn't we transition faster? It's because there is such an engrained infrastructure that the people that have the vested interest
they are making a lot of money on their current infrastructure and they don't want to change so they will fight tooth and nail to prevent a change."

50 states with 50 plans can get us to 100 percent renewable energy. That's the thesis behind The Solutions Project, the brainchild of an unlikely group -- a famous Hollywood actor, a well-respected professor and a successful investor. But what's holding us back? And how can businesses and communities help accelerate this clean energy future?

The Solutions Project is a non-profit group co-founded in 2011 by Josh Fox, Marco Krapels, Mark Jacobson and Mark Ruffalo to boost renewables. The group's stated mission is "to use the powerful combination of science and business and culture to accelerate the transition to 100-percent clean, renewable energy." Krapels and Jacobson spoke with Joel Makower at VERGE 2014.
