U.S. Extends Bidding for Intake Gantry Crane at 810-MW Little Goose by PennWell HydroWorld, December 14, 2011

WALLA WALLA, Wash., U.S. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has extended the deadline for bids for a new 130-ton intake gantry crane for 810-MW Little Goose Dam, on the Snake River in Washington. Bids now are due Jan. 19, 2012.

The Corps' Walla Walla District previously called for bids by Dec. 29. It took bids in January for reconditioning of circuit breakers at Little Goose.

The Corps said the crane is to be a turnkey project from design to installation. It is to provide about 179 feet of total lift and stand about 72 feet tall above the embedded rails. The contractor is to engineer and design all new components of the system and submit computations and drawings for approval.
