U.S. Seeks Intake Gantry Crane
for 810-MW Little Goose

WALLA WALLA, Wash., -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids for a new 130-ton intake gantry crane for 810-MW Little Goose Dam, on the Snake River in Washington. Bids are due Dec. 29.

The Corps' Walla Walla District took bids in January for reconditioning of circuit breakers at Little Goose.

The agency said the crane is to be a turnkey project from design to installation. It is to provide about 179 feet of total lift and stand about 72 feet tall above the embedded rails. The contractor is to engineer and design all new components of the system and submit computations and drawings for approval.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W912EF12R0005 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
