Grieving Orca:
Snake River Dams

by Caitlyn Shim
Seattle Times, August 2, 2018

J52 nicknamed 'Sonic', was a two and a half year old male born during the so-called Baby Boom of 2015/2016 -- is deceased, presumably from malnutrition. (by Gary Sutton) We need a plan to save the Northwest orcas. They are starving to death. If we don't fix something this year, we may lose these beauties of the Northwest. How can we just sit and watch this? I'm begging, urging my elected officials to support the removal of the lower Snake River dams. I would also like to see some low-impact hatcheries to help feed the orcas while the wild stock recovers.

Please help keep our very special animals alive. They're starving to death. I will vote, and donate, on this issue. And I will vote out candidates who do not take action.
