U.S. Army Corps Closes
Columbia Locks for Maintenance

PENDLETON -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will close navigation locks at dams on the Columbia and Snake rivers in March for annual inspection, repair and maintenance.

An announcement from the Corps said all Walla Walla District navigation locks will close to recreational and commercial river traffic Saturday, March 2, at 6 a.m. This includes McNary Dam's navigation lock on the Columbia River, which the Corps scheduled to reopen Saturday, March 16, at 11:59 p.m. The Corps plans to reopen locks at Ice Harbor, Lower Monumental, Little Goose and Lower Granite on the Snake River at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, March 23.
