Low Boarding's Prompts Alaska Airlines
to Stop Service at Lewiston Airport

LEWISTON, ID -- Starting August 25, Alaska Airlines will no longer be flying out of the Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport.

A spokesperson said it was a difficult decision for the company, but based on capacity and demand trends in Lewiston and Pullman, this was the best choice.

Alaska Airlines will now be operating solely out of Pullman.

The average Lewiston flight is only 60% full, which is well below their system average of 85%.

Starting August 26, they'll test a fourth daily flight between Pullman and Seattle.

The company said the Lewiston-based employees will be offered the opportunity to relocate to another city and keep their jobs.
