WALLA WALLA, Wash., U.S. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to seek bids for replacement traveling screens for 980-MW McNary Dam on the Columbia River in Oregon.

The Corps' Walla Walla District expects to issue a solicitation about May 14 with bids to be due about June 14. The Corps already is taking bids May 15 for field work on transformers at McNary. (HydroWorld 4/19/10)

In the current solicitation, the Corps seeks supply and installation of two 10-foot-wide by 74-foot-long traveling screens to replace Rex-style traveling screens on McNary's Oregon shore fish ladder auxiliary water supply intake structure. The work is valued at between $500,000 and $1 million.

A pre-solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W912EF10B0009 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
