Lower Monumental Dam
Crossing to Close for Work

Water runs through spillway gates of Lower Monumental Dam on the Lower Snake River in southeastern Washington. Increased spills benefit salmon. KAHLOTUS -- Drivers who use the vehicle crossing across Lower Monumental Dam will need to find an alternate route starting Thursday.

The crossing over the dam will be closed through Jan. 7 while maintenance crews clean debris from the turbine intake trash racks. Alternate routes across the Snake River are bridges located on U.S. Highway 12 near Burbank and on State Route 261 near Starbuck.

Updates on all crossings for Lower Snake River dams maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is available by calling 888-326-4636.
