		Energy Northwest:
		by Staff
		 |
Richland A draft environmental study of extending the license to operate Energy Northwest's nuclear power plant near Richland found no environmental impacts that would prevent a 20-year extension.
The Columbia Generating Station is operating under its original 40 year license and has requested that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission extend the license for 20 years through most of 2024.
Public meetings on the draft environmental impact statement are planned for 2 and 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Red Lion Hotel in Richland.
