Salmon Fishing to Reopen
on Part of Lower Columbia River

by Bill Monroe
The Oregonian, September 9, 2021

Oregon and Washington announced late Thursday the reopening of part of the Columbia river to salmon fishing. Some of the lower Columbia River will reopen to salmon fishing Saturday.

Oregon and Washington announced the reopening of the area between Warrior Rock on Sauvie Island and Bonneville Dam on Saturday to retention of fall chinook and hatchery coho.

The bag limit is two salmon, but only one can be a chinook and all coho must be fin-clipped.

Fish managers said they’re still evaluating whether and when to reopen fishing from Tongue Point to Warrior Rock.
