by Associated Press
East Oregonian, October 4, 2009

PORTLAND - A federal judge has given salmon advocates more time to file responses to the Obama administration's plan for saving salmon from the harm caused by Columbia Basin hydroelectric dams.

U.S. District Judge James Redden Friday granted Oregon's request to push the deadline back to Oct. 7.

NOAA Fisheries Service had revised the Bush administration plan to include climate-change monitoring and the possibility of removing four Snake River dams.
