A cargo vessel will bypass Portland Wednesday, disrupting more freight and business across the Northwest as port unions continue squabbling over a couple of jobs.

Managers at Hapag-Lloyd, one of the world's largest steamship lines, told freight forwarders Monday not to expect the 38,000-ton Cape

Mayor in port this week. Instead the ship is expected to unload its Portland-bound containers in Oakland, Calif., where they'll be sent on by truck or rail.

Another Hapag-Lloyd ship departed Portland late after calling on the Port of Portland last week -- as did a vessel owned by the Hanjin shipping line, which left about 100 empty containers at the terminal Monday to avoid further delays, port managers said.
