BOISE -- The Idaho Department of Fish and Game's program to release hatchery steelhead into the Boise River for anglers is continuing.

Last week, another 330 steelhead were released into the river threading through Idaho's capital city, bringing the total over eight days to 670.

Another 500 steelhead have been released in Hells Canyon Reservoir near the Oxbow Fish Hatchery on the Oregon-Idaho border at the request of the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.

All the steelhead have come from Idaho Power's Oxbow hatchery.

When the program ends, officials anticipate they will have released 2,000 steelhead for Idaho and Oregon anglers.
