Work to Delay Traffic
Crossing Lower Granite Dam

by Staff
Walla Walla Union-Bulletin, June 19, 2016

Lower Granite Dam in SE Washington state impounds the Lower Snake forty miles up beyond the Idaho border. Work to install equipment at Lower Granite Dam will cause delays Monday for crossing traffic.

Delays of up to two hours will occur from 7 a.m. to noon during installation of equipment to monitor fish behavior in a new fish ladder cooling system.

The visitor center and south shore recreation areas west of the dam on Almota-Ferry Road will remain accessible only from the south riverbank of the Lower Snake River. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff and others on official business on the north shore can access the dam via the north-shore approach on State Highway 194.
