Nez Perce Tribe Files Suit
Over 3 Idaho Power Dams

by Brian Morrin
Idaho News 2, July 31, 2019

Brownlee Reservoir from the Snake River Road south of Richland (S. John Collins / Baker City Herald file photo) The Nez Perce Tribe, Pacific Rivers and Idaho Rivers United have filed separate lawsuits against the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.

The Lewiston Tribune reports the groups are trying to stop the re-licensing of three dames along the Idaho-Oregon border operated by Idaho Power.

Regulators in Idaho and Oregon granted the water certification agreement with Idaho Power last month.

The agreement does not include fish passage but calls for Idaho Power to fund projects to improve fish habitat and reduce water temperatures on the Snake River tributaries.
