Another Grain Terminal Union Lockoutby StaffPortland Business Journal, May 6, 2013 |
Columbia Grain this weekend became the second Portland-area grain terminal operator to lock out members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union.
As the Oregonian reports, Columbia Grain accused the workers of slowing down operations at its Port of Portland grain elevator and locked them out on Saturday.
The union workers have been without a contract since Sept. 30.
Another terminal operator, United Grain, locked out ILWU members from its Vancouver operation in March after accusing a union leader of sabotaging equipment.
