Vestas gets 138.6MW U.S. Orders for Turbines

COPENHAGEN -- The world's largest wind turbines manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S said Tuesday it has received orders for the delivery of a total of 77 wind turbines to two U.S. wind farm project.

Danish company Vestas has signed two firm and unconditional contracts for the delivery of a total of 138.6 megawatt of installed wind power production capacity. The turbines ordered are of the type V100, and each have a production capacity of 1.8 megawatt.

The turbines will be installed at the Palouse Wind project and Bull Hill wind power plant, which are locaed in Whitman County, Washington, and Hancock, Maine, respectively.

The contracts include delivery, commissioning and 10-year maintenance agreements, Vestas said. Deliveries for both projects are scheduled for mid-2012, and both projects are expected to be commissioned in late 2012

Including the two new contracts, Vestas has now announced an order intake for 2011 in the volume of 5,213 megawatt.
