The Dalles dam on the Columbia River The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a US$369,182 contract to McMillen LLC for fishway modifications at the 1,780 Dalles hydropower project on the Columbia River.

The Corps' Walla Walla District last sought bids for the work in August, which will see McMillen make minor fishway modifications to improve passage conditions for adult Pacific lamprey at Dalles Dam.

The contract also includes a likely option for similar work at the 2,160-MW John Day hydropower plant.

Walla Walla Disctrict awarded another contract for lamprey passage at 980-MW McNary to Marine Industrial Construction LLC earlier this month.
