U.S. Seeks Design-Build Work at Projects in Snake River Basin by PennWell HydroWorld, March 25, 2011

WALLA WALLA, Wash., -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids for design-build construction work primarily in the Snake River Basin of the Pacific Northwest. Bids are due April 11.

The Corps' Walla Walla District said it plans to award four multiple-award task order contracts for work including dams, roads and pavement construction and repair, general environmental work, incidental minor construction, excavation, plumbing, demolition, electrical, structural, mechanical, concrete work, environmental remedial work, and other requirements that might arise. Work is limited to Small Business Administration-certified HUBZone small businesses.

The Corps said the work primarily would be located in the Walla Walla District area generally following the Snake River drainage of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, and small parts of Nevada and Utah.

It said work would be concentrated at several hydroelectric projects: 980-MW McNary on the Columbia River; 603-MW Ice Harbor, 810-MW Lower Granite, 810-MW Little Goose, and 810-MW Lower Monumental, all on the Snake; 402-MW Dworshak on the Clearwater River; and 101-MW Lucky Peak on the Boise River.
